VDK: The Fabrication Proccess
The VDK team finally has a resolved prototype in-hand. Here is a brief photo blog outlining the steps of fabrication. The fabrication process started with a hunt for hardware and fabric. Once we had the hardware in place, we sent it in for dyeing. As soon as the dyeing was done we took the fabric and hardware to the fabricator and got the patterns made. The patterns were used to cut the inserts and the fabric which were subsequently glued and stitched together. We took these pieces to get them rubber printed and once that was done, went back to the fabricator for final assembly and stitching.
