Sunita and Paaltan Hasda reside in the Aadivasi Tola (Tribal Hamlet) of a remote area, Janglabhita, in Kishanganj. They have three children, out of which two were delivered at home and one at the PHC. The reasons were completely circumstantial and convenience-driven, whereas, given a choice, they would have liked all three of the deliveries to have happened at a government facility as they provide them with free medicines, services and a personnel for help.
As we furrowed in deeper, in order to understand people’s experiences at the time of delivery, we found how each of them had their different stories accompanied with several factors and key players that enabled the decision making around the situation.
