More Entrepreneurs speaking at the next Pecha Kucha Night!

Yesterday, I announced six of the twelve speakers who will be at the Pecha Kucha Night next Thursday (the 28th of February). Here are brief introductions to the rest of our amazing speakers!*

Abhinav Sinha is Co-founder & COO at Eko India Financial Services Pvt Ltd. Abhinav started his career with a brief stint at Oracle Corporation. Seeking more excitement than the stability of a global MNC could offer, Abhinav joined Six DEE Telecom Solutions, a telecom value added services start-up which was founded by his college seniors. In Six DEE, he matured into a business development lead with a string of successful international mobile commerce sales and implementations across several telecom operators in the Middle-East and South Asia. These experiences led him to believe that the mobile phone could be built as the financial identity for low income customers, one of the reasons he went on to co-found Eko. Abhinav holds a Bachelors in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, India, and currently lives in Gurgaon.

Ajay Chaturvedi is the Founder of HarVa, a rural start up that primarily focuses on Skill Development, BPO, Community based farming and Microfinance. Ajay begun his career with IBM Consulting in the US and has experience in Management, Operations and IT Consulting across Financial Services, IT and ITeS industries in US, UK, and South East Asia. Ajay truly believes in the power of cost effective innovation on all aspects that will lead to value creation across the world, especially in India and supports the Socio-Capitalistic business models as the drivers of inclusive growth. A voracious reader, an avid golfer and an ardent traveller, Ajay spent almost a decade living in the US and across the world and now lives in Gurgaon. Ajay was awarded CNN IBN Youth Icon / Young Indian Leader of the year 2011 and has recently been nominated as one of the Amazing Global Indian by Times Now News 2012-13 and Yahoo unsung Heroes 2012-13. Ajay is an Engineer from BITS Pilani and a Graduate in Management of Technology from the School of Engineering and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Adhish Duggal is co-founder of Bakubot and it’s first venture, the Glyph t-shirt company. Adhish found his calling early in life starting to work as a freelance designer by the time he was 19. His imagination and creativity was constantly being influenced by the simplicity of artists like Dadu Shin and Alex Pardee. This took him to Vancouver so he could further his skills and talent as an artist at the prestigious Vancouver film school. On completing his training in Vancouver, Adhish returned to India to slowly setup Bakubot, a design studio that does all kinds of design work, from corporate stationary and animation to merchandise. He hopes to see India emerge as a global design hub to provide the world with innovative solutions.

Simran Mangharam is a co-founder of Floh, an invitation-only network for singles. Simran manages the critical offline operations of Floh. Having organized events across four continents and for audiences in excess of ten thousand, she’s eminently qualified for this role. Before starting Floh, she was a Partner in a boutique Executive Search firm. As someone who’s been working since college, she’s acutely aware of the new social order for women professionals in India. The origin of Floh can be traced to several conversations she’s had with her women friends who wonder why it’s so difficult to find like-minded men!

Madhav Kaushish graduated in 2011 with a degree in Maths from Oberlin College, Ohio, USA. He always loved maths and would like to spread this love of the subject or at least remove the fear people experience on hearing the term. Since he graduated, Madhav has been working on his startup SmarterGrades, an online adaptive maths learning platform. Madhav’s aim is to make SmarterGrades available to the largest possible audience which is why the product will be offered for free to anybody and will work even with low bandwidth. There are also future plans to translate the product into other languages. SmarterGrades is currently at an alpha stage and is conducting trials at schools including Vasant Valley.

Come listen to this exciting bunch of people share their stories, experiences and insights, followed as always by food, drink, fire and brilliant conversation!
