Delhi Makers Meet

On the 4th of March, we hosted the first ever Delhi Makers meet at the Vihara Innovation Campus. The meet brought together a group of people interested in various forms of making – 3d printing, diy electronics, paper making, pottery, robotics, 3d modeling, animation, cooking, knitting, amongst so many others! The idea is to expand the group to build a community of people and institutions, bringing together ideas and the infrastructure required to make them happen. We will be meeting again on the 1st of April at 6.15, at the Adianta School for Leadership and Innovation, Vihara Innovation Campus, D 57, Chattarpur Enclave, 100 ft. rd., Delhi 110074, and then again on the 1st Tuesday of every month. This Tuesday we will be making and racing Bristlebots, 3D printing, and exchanging even more ideas for what we as a group would like to do. Feel free to join us or share with others who you think would be interested. More details below.

Are there any constraints to the regular activities and people involved?
Not as of now. The Delhi Makers group is about anything that people are interested in. The idea is to get any 3 people into a place to build something together and learn off each other. As of now the groups is made up of a small group of people who loosely know each other, and we hope to expand it to build a community or network of people connected by electronics, robotics, 3d printing, carpentry, video editing, web design and so on and so forth.

Does everybody have to be present for the Monthly meetings or individual meet ups?
Not everyone has to be present. The idea is to eventually have very frequent meetings and meet ups, so by default Delhi Makers know where they have to be if and when they can. This should eliminate the responsibility of a few people having to coordinate the meetings and meet-ups.

How should we manage our social media activities? Should we have a twitter account or a hashtag?
There is already a Delhi Makers wiki page, and a Delhi Makers facebook page. We could eventually look at using an email server, or google groups or facebook groups. On the twitter account vs. hashtag question, some say potato some say potato.

Who else should the Delhi Makers reach out to?
Springboard 91
Robotics Club, IIT Delhi
