The Certificate in Innovation Management is now half over, and it’s been an intense morning, beginning with yoga, interactive games and Aum chanting. This was followed by discussions on innovation and what it means, how it relates to design, and whether it is routinizable. After this, we launched into a discussion of the three stages of innovation – Jugaad, Price-Point Innovation, and Value-Creating Innovation, with case studies to support each of these stages.
Due to the high interest and high rate of engagement amongst the participants, the morning’s session went on a little longer than we had expected. There was robust discussion around all the different case studies, and several different opinions voiced, with a discussion on the many nuances of each type of innovation, especially within a specific context.
Aditya Dev Sood (pictured above, signing the Certificate), Divya Datta and Sneha Raman presented and moderated the entire session.
Following lunch, we will invite Design and Innovation experts Scott Burnham, Premsela and Eswaran Subrahmanian, Carnegie Mellon, to a conversation about innovation, trust, design and other related factors. An overview of the day will follow soon. Stay Tuned!
