Bringing Crowdsourced Innovation to the Healthcare Sector

One of the best things about the Adianta School, as we’ve said before, is our incredible network of partners and mentors who are as committed to innovation as we are. The most recent addition to our partner organizations, as we mentioned last week, is Enviu, a Netherlands-based organization that starts and support socially impactful startups in emerging economies around the world.

One of the most recent initiatives they’ve recently begun is the Open Health Community, a platform to crowdsource creative healthcare business solutions to improve the lives of (ex)cancer patients. Powered by Enviu, the online platform brings together students, entrepreneurs, professionals, creatives and experts to share inspiration and develop new ideas. By following an open innovation process in the form of a crowdsourcing challenge, the Open Health Community aims to co-create innovative business solutions that empower cancer patients.

If recent trends in the development of cancer will continue in the future, the estimated number of new patients worldwide will grow to 22 million a year by 2030. These staggering numbers will challenge the current healthcare system. It creates a pressing need for innovative ideas that can allow patients to take ownership of their health and healthcare. The owner(s) of the best business concept will win 10.000EUR, the support of Enviu to develop it into a start-up, and the chance to impact the lives of millions of people affected by cancer. Join the challenge now, and this person might be you!
