India Needs to Innovate: James Crabtree interviews Anand Mahindra

I just re-watched this excellent Financial Times video interview where James Crabtree talks to Anand Mahindra about the state of innovation in India, where he talks about jugaad, frugal innovation, and ‘Indovation’ in general, especially his skepticism of so-called ‘Indian approaches to innovation,’ or a specifically Indian management style. Instead, he suggests, it is constraint-led innovation attempts, whether they be in India or in Silicon Valley, that tend to be most successful. Watch the interview:
